Went job searching again today. Dropped off my applications again and even found a few more places that are hiring. While stopping at Target I finally got a chance to see the new Star Wars: Clone Wars merchandise. Honestly, I am not that thrilled by the toys for the new movie. I do plan on seeing it,but as for collecting the toys no. The packaging for some reason really bothers me and the way how the action figures look, just too bland. I wish they didnt take the Saga figures off the shelves, those were awesome. Even the Clone Wars Legos don't even look that cool. Most of the sets are huge and are expensive. Hopefully lego will release more sets this year from the original trilogy.

And speaking of toys, I finally saw the Dark Knight toys. i find it amusing they marketed toys from the new Batman movie, by which no way is not a kids movie. What is kinda odd, there are two versions of Dark Knight toys. One is obviously set for kids and there is one set for collectors. I also couldn't help notice that toys have gotten expensive these days. Thankfully I get all my stuff from toy shows or make trades online.

And one last thing. I happen to find a very rare cd that i been looking forever for. While on my way back i stopped at this kinda ghetto thrift store. I was looking through thier cheap cds and I unexpectedly found From the inside by Asplit Second.

    Photobucket

I been looking all over for this cd and here I find it at a thrift store. i only plaid $3 for it. Asplit Second is one of those many Belguim bands from the New Beat era. i wouldnt really consider them a EBM band, but they kinda fall under that category. i always felt Asplit Second was highly underrated. They are just as good as Skinny Puppy, Ministry(twitch era) and Front242. I been playing this cd in my car non stop. Lately I been listening to more old school industrial again these days. I find it more interesting to listen to and its been infuencing my own music a lot too.

    I am the passenger
So this month is over. Quite a lot has happened during the final days of July.

With August on the way i already find myself busy. I have been actively applying for jobs. I applied at two places today that are easy to travel to. i applied at this cafe, which I could easily ride my bike to. The other place was this sandwich place which I can get to by lightrail. So far things are looking good.

My mom came back from her long road trip on sunday.I was gone when she came back, which leads me to this.

Sunday evening I went with Hannah and her mom to Auburn. I was invited to tag along for thier big family dinner. The drive was nice. After reaching Auburn, the roads tooks us beyond the regular trail and began to curve and go straight down into the woods. I really liked how quiet and isolated it was. Hannahs family were really nice. I got along really well with her grandmother and uncle. The food served was really awesome. And to top it all off, desert was this terrific cheesecake.

After looking back to the past times I have spent with Hannah, things have been really good. We only been hanging out for a week or so and we already gotten to know each other very well. I been very happy how things been going so far.

Getting hungry. I should go home now.

Just now came home from two days of being out.

Friday night I took Hannah to a show over in Orangevale. Adam was doing a live show over at this place called Club Retro. When we arrived there to my surprise, the venue was a christian youth center. We got there first before anyone else. Eventually saw Victor and then Adam and Ashley showed up.

Aside from Savior playing that night, there was three other bands. One I didnt really pay attention to. One was Candybullet, which was this electro-indie rock band. And the headliner was this really wacky hyper band that reminded me of Mindless Self Indulgence.

After the show we all went to Dennys. To my surprise those guys from that Wacky band showed up too. Apparently one of the guys in that band has worked with MSI on various video projects, strange huh? And for something even stranger. Apparently Hannah used to know Adam years ago. This was way before I met Adam in 2003, so that was a surprise.Overall had a pretty good time with everyone.

I ended up spending the night over at Hannahs place. She had no bed, but sleeping on the floor wasnt that bad. The following morning we got up and went to A-1 Comics. Came back to her place, had lunch and watched Hellboy. I had to get back home. Left at 5:00 pm and said bye to Hannah.

I am really tired right now. I usually stay up on a saturday night, but for once I am going to sleep early.

I had possibly the best day with Hannah.

We hanged out all day, but everything started at a odd beginning. We were supposed to meet at 12:00 pm. She had a job appointment to attend to at 10:00 am, and I was going to meet her at her place afterwards. Right when she was leaving, minutes later she text me and told me she ran out of gas. I asked her where she was. Turns out she was stuck in parking lot near Arden/Watt. It wasnt that far, so I went and picked her up without even thinking. Brought a gascan with me and filled up her car. Right when we thought that problem was solved, her car still wouldn't start. She decided just to leave it behind and figure it out later. We went back my place for a bit, and later she found out from her mom there was some trick to get the car started. Sure enough it did the trick. After that we went in our own seperate cars and went to her place.

During the rest of the afternoon we just watched a few movies. We watched Ghostbusters and The Brothers Grimm. Sometime around 3:00, she had to go back to Barnes and Noble and finish her appointment. It didnt take too long, I just waited in the graphic novel section till she was done.

Came back to the house again. Spent some time cuddling and finished watching Ghostbusters. I finally got to meet her mom. It appears I won points with her mom. She was really impressed that I cooked for Hannah and drove to get her gas. Actually, me and her mom got along really well. Hannah's mom is into a lot of fantasy art, like Olivia, Bromm and Boris Vallejo. She overheard my current unemployment issue and recommended this one place not too far. She even said she would put in a good word for me.

Hannah made dinner for us. She made this really good salad and this wonderful pasta dish. She even made some cupcakes for desert. We went out again for bit. Its really awesome that she isnt far from many places I frequent. I took her to Empire Comics. She never been there and so far like the store. We chated so much about a lot of comics we both read. I never met anyone who knew so much about comics. She showed me this rather interesting comic called Wormwood, actually she let me borrow a few of hers.

Went to Dimple Records on the way back. Again, our conversations continued on more and more. She had some really interesting stories. She told me years ago she saw Ministry and met Al Jourgensen. Al even gave her this piece of this stage pipe that was part of this cage. She told me she sold it on ebay for $200. She also told me she once owned a bunch of rare cds from Skinny Puppy, stuff that was only available as promos. Apparetly she sold all those for $700.

There was this really interesting story she told me about the actor Crispin Glover. Hannah used to live in Utah and would often go to the Sundance Film Festival. During one screening Crispin Glover had a special presenation of a new film he made and also released a series of these books that he wrote. Hannah got all of his books and was about to get them autographed. There was too many people at the screening and she wasnt able to. Turns out at another screening, Crispin Glover saw her in the middle of an crowd, got up and pushed everyone out of the way and autographed her books without even paying attention to everyone else. Apparently these books are rare and are worth about $1,000.

Our night ended a bit earlier. We didnt stay up as late as before. Before going home I said bye to her and gave her a goodbye kiss.

I drove back home feeling very happy.

    CANNED
So I am out of a job right now. I went to work this afternoon only to find out we are no longer in buisness. I knew this was going to happen soon, but not this soon. I just wished someone would have called me in advanced instead of me driving over and finding out. I'm not really upset. I knew it was going to happen eventually. I still have one last paycheck to recieve and I am in no money problems. I still got ebay money to survive too.

Its just time to look for a new job again. I am ready too. Actually, a few people might be able to pull some strings for me. Megan might be able to get me in working for Mervyns and Hannah suggested apply at Barnes and Noble.Speaking of which, im going job searching with her tomarrow. We are probably gonna have lunch afterwards and just hangout during the rest of the day. I am going to be applying for jobs like crazy, but at the same time make the best of my leisure time.

I have a feeling I will find something. Now that I got more work experience I now know what to exopect.

    Here's Where the story ends...
Last week has been somewhat of an unexpected turn of events. I wasn't expecting to meet anyone who would right away enter my life so soon. Not only that, but meeting someone with the same interests and also enjoy being with. It's nice to be around someone and not be afraid to just be myself.

Sunday night was the moment we both just were finally alone and got to just enjoy a quiet moment together, but actually it took awhile for that to happen.

Before the whole night started, I went by to her house to pick her up. We came back to my place and watched a few movies. We sat there for a bit and she asked me what was on my mind. Right before I could even answer someone knocked at the door. I got interrupted by Dennis.(that reminds me, im gonna kill him for that) Apparently he came by to pick up his PS3 box. Right when I gave him back his box I quickly threw him out.

We ended up going to Asylum. Yeah, I knew it was going to be lame. Actually we both did. Me and her sat there just talking about random things. We ended up leaving a bit early. Went to Dennys. We got there before the club folks arrived. We made sure we sat in the very back so none of those really annoying people bugged us. It was so fun to talk about any random topic. I didn't think I ever met a girl who was into anime or laughed at my dumb nerdy jokes.

We came back to my place. I thought she wanted to go home right away, but she just looked at me and I had feeling she didnt want to leave so soon. We sat there alone and just enjoyed that moment of silence. She then stared at me and asked what I was thinking. Thats when it finally happened. I just kissed her instantly. I forgot how wonderful that feels. We completley lost track of time, but we didn't care. I took her back home and by that time it was nearly 5:00 am. I am really glad the night ended so perfect.

Since I have today off from work and she dosent have to work today we might hangout again today.

    Claymation Terror
I saw this back when I was really young. I never thought I see this again. After seeing this again many years later its somewhat creepy. I dont know why, but I felt sorry for those little clay people that got killed.

And yet for some reason I want to sample some of the creepy dialouge.

Wow. I can't believe this. I am helping my freind Dennis sell his PS3 box on ebay. Yes, just the box.

Its currently going for $10 right now. If it keeps going up, im taking a cut of the profit, since I did list it on my ebay account.

During this year there bas been quite a few bands passing through town. Last friday I went to a show to go see 16Volt and Bella Morte. I mainly went since I got out of work early that night and I had nothing to do.

Even though I am not really into coldwave anymore, seeing 16Volt really brought back some high school nostalgia. It made be think back when I was 17 listening to Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Static-X, Fear Factory and just about any band that used an synth/distorted guitars. I remember I saw 16volt back in 2002, opening for KMFDM.(I was 19 at the time)

I barely recoginized Eric Powell.(lead member of 16Volt)He looked different the last time I saw him. He put on a pretty kick ass show. While a majority of the songs were all new, they did play a few old favorites. Was cool to hear "skin" "motorskill" "I fail truth" and "machine kit." It was surprisingly packed that night for that show, odd considering the lack of advertising.

Oh yeah. I was browsing the Metropolis Records site, checking out who is on tour and who might be coming by. Apparently Imperative Reaction is schedued to do a show again in Sacramento in November. Even though I like Ted and his music, I seen those guys many times.(4 last I counted)However I saw that [SITD] is touring with them, so that might be a cool show, that is if it happens and where its gonna be.

I just remembered. Since Modulate got signed to Metropolis that would be pretty kick ass if they did a show near here. I am also hoping that Hocico tours again too. Since COP International signed them domesticaly, that leaves a possibilty for a show.(Metropolis was dumb to lose them)

    12:14 am
Recently this week I got some cds that I ordered online. I ordered them on saturday night and recieved them in the mail on tuesday. I ordered through COP International, since they had some stuff I wanted and also they have really good service. I will give an example.

In the past I used to order from the Metropolis distro, mostly since they had just about everything I was looking for and that was my only resource at the time to get any industrial cds. However these days I stopped ordering from them. I had too much bad experience, mostly due to being told an item was out of stock at the last minute and having store credit and not being redeemed. This has happened to me at least 4 times. I usually dont find out when a specific cd I ordered is out of stock right until I recieved my package in the mail and notice the one of the 4 cds I ordered is not there.

On the other hand COP International hasn't let me down. There have been moments when an item I ordered that was out of stock, but I was told ahead of time and was informed a new shipment would arrive in 2 weeks and would be mailed ASAP. Just about everything I ordered online came to my house in 3-4 days. Then again, COP International are based in Oakland and being not that far really helps. So yeah, at this point i'm done with the Metropolis distro. From now on I am getting my music from COP Intl, Crunchpod and Electrostate.

This now brings me to another related topic. Over the past years I have always paid for my music. I have never downloaded anything and one of those few people on this planet who does not own a Ipod. I still play my cds on my stereo. Even before I didnt have a job years ago I still managed to save up money and buy cds from bands I really liked. I buy music cause I like it. Its often expensive to buy stuff these days, but I try to find the really awesome music that is out there. And since now I started doing my own music I am really opposed to any music piracy.

Oh yeah. For some reason it shocks me that Metropolis signed Modulate. I thought Metropolis stopped signing industrial bands and now focused on indie rock.

I was talking to my freind Daniel today. I asked him if he was still interested in making a visual video for me. He said he would do it,but it will just take awhile. I said there is no rush and also told him just try to have fun with it. I plan on using this video for my live shows.

We chated abit and he asked me how my music has been going. He asked me if I was going to add any vocals to any of my tracks. I said no. Honestly, I wanted to do vocaless music since I knew sure sure I can't sing and no amount of vocoding/distortion can save myself. Not only that, but what am i going to sing about? I suck at writing lyrics and if I did,it would not make any sense.

I'm actually a fan of music with no vocals. A lot of bands I like such as SAM, Soman, FeindFlug, Dulce Liquido, Terrorfakt, Converter,NoisufX, and FabrikC all have no vocals but the music still rocks.

Saturday night I ended up going to Darkness over at Old Ironsides. I normally don't go since that place plays old school goth/80s,but after hearing that Adam was going to be spining that night I knew his set was going to kick ass. And it did. Adam actually got the best crowd response during the whole night and kept the dance floor going. Was awesome to hear some Noise Unit and Leaether Strip.

Oh yeah, I finally saw The Mist. Surprisingly that was good. Often these days Stephen King based films are not as great but this one made up for that disaster Dreamcatcher. I actually read the original book back in high school and noticed a few changes, but I really liked how they went for a much darker ending. The movie had bit of a HP Lovecroft feel to it,with the outer dimensional monsters.

There was two things that really surprised me in this movie. One was the very bleak ending. A group of people(including the main character, Mr. Drayton) manage to escape in a car and drive away as far as they can. They drive far until they run out of gas. Realizing its not worth to live anymore each of the survivors take thier own lives by commiting suicide by use of a gun. Just as Drayton is about to end his life the gun is out of bullets. After failing to end his life, he then gets out of the car and waits for one of the monsters to kill him. Turns out just moments when everyone killed thmeselves, a military team drives by and has taken cared of the monsters and rescued the rest of the survivors. Talk about bad timing.

And the other thing that was a surprise was to hear Dead Can Dance being used as one of the main theme music for one scene. It fit well, specially the scene when the town is all destroyed and those giant monsters are everywhere.I always felt Dead Can Dance would make good soundtrack music.

Well, I should get to sleep. Got a lot of stuff to mail tomarrow morning.
